Old Channel Lining Public Discussion
As part of the Old Channel Lining Project, Honey Lake Valley RCD and JUB Engineers Inc. will be hosting an open house on Wednesday, January 18th, 5:30 PM at the Susanville Community Center, 95 N. Weatherlow Street. We are encouraging landowners along the project’s length and water users further downstream to attend if they have any questions, concerns, or would like to hear more about the project and its status. This also serves as an opportunity for community members to provide input about aspects of the projects design.
At the open house the HLVRCD will present the reasoning behind the project, how it addresses the community’s needs, an expected project timeline, as well as the scope and limitations involved with the Old Channel Lining as it pertains to water users and the Susanville community. The HLVRCD hopes to receive input on certain aspects of the project such as maintenance road/path materials and specifications, potential lighting of the maintenance road, lining material options, and whether to remove or replace trees along the length of the Old Channel ditch.
A Zoom call connection will be provided to improve access to the meeting for individuals who cannot attend the open house in person. The link can be found below or at the Honey Lake Valley RCD website.
